Sara reports that she was very sorry for any misunderstanding by not attending the April SDC meeting. She asks that we also extend her apologies to all members of Sully District Council. She did not realize they were scheduled to present in April and regrets her misunderstanding.
She reports that their application was accepted by Fairfax County Staff in mid-April and are hoping to be scheduled for a public hearing. She is hopeful that coming to a May meeting of the Sully District Council would be productive given that we will have some initial feedback from Staff.

- Centreville Presbyterian Church Special Permit Amendment information meeting Tuesday, May 15 @ 7pm at the Sully Governmental Center
- The Centreville Presbyterian Church has submitted a Special Permit Amendment (SPA) application for their property at 15450 Lee Highway in Centreville, Virginia. Currently, the existing uses on the property are the church and a small private school of general education for up to 99 students from grades 5 to 12. The purpose of the SPA application is for an increase in the student enrollment for the private school of general education from 99 to 150 students, and a change in the grades from K through 12. There will be no construction to the existing buildings on the property and no new building construction or physical changes to the remainder of the property. The hearing for this application has been scheduled with the Board of Zoning Appeals for June 6th.

- ACC May 15th Meeting - Attention Parents and Students - "Perils of the College Drinking Culture" Forum

- The Unified Prevention Coalition of Fairfax County (UPC) invites county high school students and parents to join in a collaborative effort on a presentation of "Perils of the College Drinking Culture" forum to learn and prepare them and their parents for what they will face at college related to underage and binge drinking.

The referenced application has been submitted for DP&Z review, and they have had discussions with staff, with John Litzenberger, as well as with the Providence District. (The majority of the proposed facilities are located in Sully, however).
DAS have been approved and installed in the county, first in Great Falls/McLean and then in Oakton/Hunter Mill area. At present, they have phase II of the Oakton/Hunter Mill facilities under review and partially approved (2232-P10-10). The subject DAS is not yet calendared for hearing, but they are prepared to brief the committee and respond to questions.

Fairfax County recently accepted their application, but their public hearing dates have not yet been determined.
They provided a copy of their statement of justification.
The Applicant is proposing a residential development consisting of independent living and medical care facilities. The property is located on Centreville Road, to the north of McLearen Road and is approximately 8.46 acres. The surrounding uses include the Rachel Carson Middle School to the west, a townhouse community to the north, and a service station with a car wash to the south. The property is currently zoned to the I-5 district and the rezoning application proposes a PRM zoning district. The Applicant believes that their proposal will be compatible with the surrounding development and also serve the needs of the surrounding residential communities.
