- Schneider Crossroads Lane Closures 7 - 12 March 2016
- Drivers can expect lane closures and 20- to 30-minute delays at the intersection of Braddock and Pleasant Valley roads between 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 and 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 9 for cable relocation.
- In addition, motorists can expect ten- to fifteen-minute delays due to daily lane closures at the intersection:
- Monday, March 7 to Thursday, March 10: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Friday, March 11: 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Saturday, March 12: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
- This project replaces the existing four-way stop with a one-lane roundabout in western Fairfax, to improve operations and enhance safety. The $5.8 million project is being administered in cooperation with Fairfax County and is expected to be complete in May 2016.
- I-66 Inside the Beltway Design Public Hearings on March 7, 8 and 9, 2016
- The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), in partnership with the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), will host Design Public Hearings for the Transform 66 Inside the Beltway Project on March 7, 8 and 9, 2016. Information on how dynamically-priced toll lanes will operate on I-66 inside the Beltway, as well as proposed locations of toll gantries and pricing signs will be provided. All of the hearings will include the opportunity to view project displays and attend a formal presentation, followed by a public comment period.

- Enjoy a hot buffet breakfast while hearing from Congressman Gerry Connolly who will share an update and overview of the sustainability initiatives taking place in Congress.
- We will also hear from Erik Tucker, an engineer and project manager in the Engineering Solutions Group of Leidos, Inc., who will present on Managing Climate Change Risks in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area: Adaptation Through NASA's Telescope.
- What began as an Executive Order directed opportunity to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for NASA and DoD clients has now broadened into a holistic program in support of their agency-wide strategic climate risk management goals. This exciting pathway has included developing GHG accounting and trends analysis tools; facilitating climate change adaptation workshops in the DC area and beyond; managing an interagency working group project on regionalizing sea level rise projections, worldwide; reviewing renewable energy project opportunities; and representing federal agency interests in public forums. Mr. Tucker hopes to leverage this experience in helping his home town and state minimize its own GHG footprint, while overcoming the challenges presented by a changing climate. Mr. Tucker is a graduate from McLean High School in Fairfax County, Virginia Tech, and George Mason University.
