- Priscilla Knight, representing Sully Station II, has served as the SDCCA secretary since 2010. Priscilla and her husband are moving to a house in Heritage Hunt in Gainesville. Priscilla considered it a privilege, very interesting, and fun to work with the SDC members. She wishes us all the best!

- The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) is currently seeking participants for its Transportation Planning Board (TPB) Community Leadership Institute (CLI).
- The CLI is an educational program that encourages successful community leaders to get involved in transportation-related decision-making at all levels.

- At its 16 October Membership Meeting, the Fairfax County Federation of Citizens Associations endorsed a "yes" vote for the transportation bond issue that is on general election ballot and recommended to the leaders of its members associations and leaders of district councils that they urge their residents to vote "yes."

- The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) held its Revised Fiscal Year 2015-2020 Six-Year Improvement Program joint public hearing and meeting on Thursday, 16 October
- This joint public hearing and meeting gives citizens the opportunity to review and provide comments on the working draft
- Secretary of Transportation Aubrey Layne and CTB members Gary Garczynski, James Dyke and E. Scott Kasprowicz moderated the public hearing to provide citizens and stakeholders the opportunity to comment on the Revised working draft of the Fiscal Year 2015-2020 Six-Year Improvement Program. Representatives from the Virginia Department of Transportation, Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, and Office of Intermodal Planning and Investment attended the open house and provided information on current initiatives. Written comments may be submitted during the session or mailed or e-mailed afterwards. Meeting materials are available here.

- Meetings planned on bus schedule changes
- Fairfax Connector officials are proposing a set of schedule adjustments and changes to more than two dozen bus routes. The changes would take effect in January.
- Most of the proposed changes affect routes that serve the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station. Fairfax Connector officials are proposing schedule adjustments that would more accurately reflect travel times and traffic conditions.
- Other proposed changes include a new schedule for Routes 401 and 402 to relieve overcrowding and provide access to new bus facilities by the Springfield Town Center and Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metro Station, and a new schedule and added weekday trips on service between Fair Oaks and Reston on Route 605.
