Project Description Completion Date Status
Clifton Road Design and construction of a 4-lane roadway from Lee Highway to Braddock Road for a total of approximately 2,500 LF. December-05 Construction is 77% complete.
Fairfax County Parkway Widening Widening of Fairfax County Parkway to six lanes from Rugby Road to Dulles Toll Road for a total of 6.5 miles. Additional lane to be HOV lane. TBD Preliminary survey data received for northern section. Funding for preliminary engineering and environmental studies only. Traffic analysis to be extended south to include section between I-66 and Rugby Road. Coordination meeting with FHWA held on 9/8/05.
Lee Highway (Route 29) Widening segments along Lee Highway from Shirley Gate Road to Old Centreville Road from 4 to 6 lanes. TBD Estimated TPE is for design only. Schedule will be determined following completion of preliminary design review. Preliminary design submitted 7/28/05. Scoping meeting being held this month. Awaiting comments.
Old Centreville Road Trail Asphalt trail from Old Mill  Community to Park and Ride at Centreville Methodist Church for a distance of approximately 800 LF. December-06 Project is part of the Four-Year Transportation Plan and was approved by the BOS 3/21/05. Project design to be completed by a developer and construction by DPWES. Intermediate design was submitted for review 8/1/05. VDOT comments received 9/6/05.
Poplar Tree Road Additional left turn-lane on westbound Poplar Tree Road at the intersection with Stringfellow Road. May-06 Project is part of the Governor's Congestion Relief Program, funded by VDOT. Pre-final design submitted to VDOT for review on 8/17/05. Authorization to proceed with signal design given to Consultant on 8/15/05.
Route 29/66 Underpass Trail 1800 LF 8' asphalt trail, including crossing under I-66 overpass. July-06 Project is part of the Four-Year Transportation Program endorsed by the BOS on 2/9/04. Pre-final design plans were distributed on 9/1/05.
Route 29/Bull Run Post Office Road Install right turn-lane on southbound and left-turn on northbound Route 29, improve alignment and provide turn lanes for Bull Run Post Office Road January-06 Construction substantially complete. Awaiting VDOT inspection. Traffic signal work by VDOT is complete. 
Route 50 Interchange/ Waples Mill Road Design and construction of at-grade improvements. August-06 Project is part of the Four-Year Transportation Program endorsed by the BOS on 2/9/04. Utility relocations are complete. Notice-to-proceed issued 8/1/05. Roadway open cut and noise variance requests have been requested. Acquisition authorization given 8/9/05.
Stone Road Construct a raised median from Rte. 29 Lee Highway to Billingsgate Lane, widen roadway from Billingsgate/Battery Ridge Lane to Awbrey Patent Drive, and install a traffic signal at Stone Road and Billingsgate/Stone Path intersection.  August-07 Public meeting scheduled for 10/5/05, to present plans. Land Acquisition authorization given 8/9/05.
Stonecroft Boulevard Widening Widen Stonecroft Boulevard to a six-lane section from Conference Center Drive to Westfields Boulevard. TBD  Fairfax County responsible for 800' of improvements in front of Sully District Government Center with the remaining portions to be completed by developers. Schedule contingent upon completion of design or developer's portion of project. Site plan submitted to OSDS on 8/29/05.
West Ox Road/Monroe Street Eastbound left turn-lane from West Ox Road to Monroe Street. August-07 Pre-final plans submitted for review 7/20/05. Pre-final plan comments received on 9/6/05. A UFI was held on 9/5/05. Land Acquisition plat submission was 8/26/05.
