  2. Presentations:

    1. 7:30
      • Proponent: Frank Stearns for Verizon Wireless
      • Action: Expansion of the Verizon switching station
      • Location: The cell tower on Centreview Drive

The 90-foot tower with micro dishes that dates from the 1980's is not part of this application. This is to add additional space up to .22 FAR (.235 allowed). Only 6 employees will be in the facility so parking on the street was not a problem and more parking places are provided. Staff has not reviewed the site plan but additional tree buffer was anticipated and 13-foot lighting as per Fairfax County rules. The same exterior was to be used and VDOT approved new driveway.
No objection was found by the committee.

  3. Old business:

    • Judith Heisinger gave a presentation on the proposed alternatives for the Battlefield Bypass. Though Alternative G is not finalized the committee still prefers C or D. There will be one more public meeting in Spring 2004, No date given yet.

  4. New Business:

    • Although the Vale Road United Methodist Church presentation for a 100' tower was postponed indefinitely, members of the community wanted to bring forward some objections and concerns that they are taking to Zoning Enforcement of Fairfax County to see if transition areas are 50' wide are planned. Some fear they are only 30' wide. County will review.
